The 2021
football season is about to be underway. It is never too early to look ahead to the draft. Here is the 2022 NFL Mock Draft December 2.
1. Detroit Lions- Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon
The Lions might be looking for a quarterback of the future, but there really aren’t many options. Thibodeaux is the best player in the class and can really help their defense, while they build the roster under Dan Campbell.
2. Houston Texans- Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss
Davis Mills isn’t the answer at quarterback. Matt Corral has played extremely well this season and has plenty of arm talent. If the Texans wish to take a signal-caller, Corral could be the guy, even if the quarterback class is underwhelming.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars- Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
The Jaguars need to make sure that Trevor Lawrence is protected for the next several years. Neal is big and has crazy movement skills for a player of his size.
4. New York Jets (via SEA)- Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan
The Jets rank in the middle of the league in sacks per game, but could still really use some help rushing the quarterback. Hutchinson has a wide array of pass rush moves and is also solid against the run.
5. New York Jets- Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
One area the Jets really need to improve is their secondary. The corners are not great, but luckily Derek Stingley is a very talented cover man out of LSU. He will have to recover from a foot injury, but he is very naturally gifted.
6. New York Giants- George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue
The Giants rank near the bottom of the league in sacks per game. They need to get more pressure on the quarterback and Karlaftis is a versatile lineman who can help.
7. New York Giants (via CHI)- Tyler Linderbaum, OG/C, Iowa
With the Giants likely keeping Daniel Jones, they need to get better interior offensive linemen. Linderbaum is undersized, but extremely good at center.
8. Philadelphia Eagles- Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
The Eagles have Darius Slay in the secondary, but need to upgrade just about everywhere else. Hamilton can do anything asked of a safety, including playing single-high coverage.
9. Philadelphia Eagles (via MIA)- Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
The Eagles should keep on providing Jalen Hurts with support after spending some earlier picks on defense. Wilson has great releases and creates separation. He could develop into a true WR1.
10. Carolina Panthers- Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina
Sam Darnold is not the answer at quarterback. The Panthers need to address the quarterback position in free agency or in the draft this offseason if they want to compete.
11. Atlanta Falcons- Demarvin Leal, DL, Texas A&M
The Falcons still need more help on defense if they are to become more competitive. Leal could play inside or outside for the Falcons, helping bring some versatility to their defensive line.
12. Minnesota Vikings- Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson
Minnesota signed Patrick Peterson at corner, but have also started Bashaud Breeland, who has not played well this season.
13. New Orleans Saints- Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
Michael Thomas still hasn’t played for the Saints this season and even if he returns, they need help at wide receiver. It doesn’t make sense how Burks can be big and strong, but fast at the same time.
14. Philadelphia Eagles (via IND)- Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida
The Eagles can get another good corner across from Slay, which could really help their defense take a jump.
15. Cleveland Browns- Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
Now that Odell Beckham Jr. is gone, the Browns can get Baker Mayfield more help on the outside. Olave is a smooth, fast athlete who gains natural separation.
16. Pittsburgh Steelers- Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State
The Steelers neglected to really improve their offensive line this offseason. They are playing decently well right now, but need reinforcements.
17. Denver Broncos- Carson Strong, QB, Nevada
The Broncos may have a new regime, who will want a new quarterback. Strong can make any throw asked of him and also protects the ball decently, which could entice the Broncos.
18. Las Vegas Raiders- Jordan Davis, DL, Georgia
Las Vegas perenially needs help on defense and Davis is an absolute game-wrecker. His ability to take on double-teams is unmatched.
19. Washington Football Team- Malik Willis, QB, Liberty
Washington still needs a quarterback of the future. Willis has a long way to go in terms of reading defenses and making better decisions, but he has great athleticism and arm strength.
20. Los Angeles Chargers- Kenyon Green, OG/C, Texas A&M
Justin Herbert is getting pressured up the middle, so the Chargers need to invest more into their offensive line.
21. Miami Dolphina (via SF)- Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State
The Dolphins have failed to protect Tua Tagovailoa and need to get someone who can help immediately. Cross has plenty of experience pass blocking playing for Mike Leach.
22. Buffalo Bills- Isaiah Spiller, RB, Texas A&M
Buffalo has a roster rich with talent. One area they could really improve is at running back. Zack Moss and Devin Singletary have failed to overly impress.
23. Detroit Lions (via LAR)- Drake London, WR, USC
The Lions have one of the worst wide receiver rooms in the league. They should stick with Jared Goff for one more year and give him some help, while they stock the roster with talent for the next quarterback.
24. Cincinnati Bengals- Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
Eli Apple is currently starting for the Bengals. They need to get a better corner to go across from Chidobe Awuzie.
25. Dallas Cowboys- Daxton Hill, S, Michigan
With Trevon Diggs and Anthony Brown playing decently, the Cowboys just need better safety play behind them.
26. Kansas City Chiefs- Drake Jackson, EDGE, USC
Kansas City has their offense getting back on track, but their defense needs to add some talent this offseason.
27. Tennessee Titans- Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah
Tennessee does not have talented linebackers in the middle of their defense.
28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington
Tampa Bay has had so many injuries to their secondary that they may want to draft a corner in the first round with not too many needs on the roster.
29. New England Patriots- David Bell, WR, Purdue
At some point, the Patriots have to get Mac Jones weapons. Bell is a great possession receiver, which may be appealing to Bill Belichick.
30. Green Bay Packers- Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia
D’Vondre Campbell is playing well, but the Packers need another inside linebacker to go with him. Dean plays fast and could help right away.
31. Baltimore Ravens- Darian Kinnard, OT, Kentucky
Ronnie Stanley will return next season from injury, but the Ravens could use another tackle, as Alejandro Villanueva has had some rough moments this season.
32. Arizona Cardinals- Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn
Arizona doesn’t have many needs, but could get a corner to develop across from Byron Murphy.
