Will Cam Reddish Have the Best NBA Career of His Class?

The 2019 Draft Class

In June, the NBA welcomed its latest draft class, which featured a few notable players. One of those players is Zion Williamson, who became the first pick of this year’s draft after the New Orleans Pelicans selected him. Williamson is arguably the favorite for Rookie of the Year, and he will likely have an excellent rookie season.  But will he have the best career in his class?

Recently, the 2019 draft class participated in a survey. The annual rookie survey asks rookies questions such as “Who is their favorite player?” “Who will win Rookie of the Year?” and “Who is the steal of their draft?”

When it came to Rookie of the Year, Williamson led with 35 percent of the votes. He was followed by Ja Morant who had 27 percent. While Williamson led in Rookie of the Year votes, he only received five percent of votes in when the rookies were asked about which 2019 draftee will have the best career. The leader in this category played for Duke but was arguably overshadowed by teammates Williamson and RJ Barrett. The player rookies believe will have the best career is Cam Reddish.

Cam Reddish was the 10th pick of this year’s draft. The Atlanta Hawks drafted Reddish as they continue their rebuild. At Duke, Reddish averaged 13.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals. He played alongside Williamson and Barrett as they prepped for the NBA.

Reddish is a versatile forward that can play other positions. He is a solid ball-handler and if necessary, can bring the ball up the floor. He is also a player that can be effective on both ends of the floor.

Reddish is 6-foot-8 with a 7-foot-1 wingspan. This gives him the ability to defend multiple positions ranging anywhere from shooting guard to forwards. His length allows him to be effective on the defensive end, and will in him becoming a skilled defender at the next level.

While Reddish is a somewhat streaky shooter, there is a chance that he improves while in the league. If he does, he could become one of the Hawks’ key players?

Will Reddish have the best career?

Will Reddish have the best NBA career? His peers seem to think so. Reddish is a player with the potential to be a solid two-way player. If his peers are right, Reddish is in for a great career.
