The 2023 NBA Draft will be an important event for teams to build for their future. Here is the Victor Wembanyama 2023 NBA Draft Profile.

Wembanyama has become one of the most hyped-up draft prospects in some time. He has played several pro seasons and is now in the 2023 NBA Draft.
His professional career started with Nanterre 92 in 2019. He was moved up to the top-tier league in France in 2020-2021, averaging 6.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. In 2021-2022, he joined ASVEL. He averaged 9.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. Wembanyama was on Metropolitans 92 for this season. He averaged 21.6 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game.
After showing tremendous growth as a pro in France, Wembanyama entered the 2023 NBA Draft. He is projected to be the first overall selection.
Wembanyama has great height and length for the NBA. He is 7-foot-2, but there are rumors that he is even taller and still growing. Along with his height, Wembanyama has an eight-foot wingspan. Wembanyama has measurables that haven’t been seen in a draft class concurrent with his body control. His measurables help him protect the rim well, but as the on-ball defender and when he is helping.
While he has good size, Wembanyama has the skills of a guard. He has good ball-handling skills and is able to bring the ball up the court. Wembanyama can drive to the basket to create for himself or others. Given his size, it will be hard to find a player that can match his length and ability to get to the basket.
He is a good rebounder as well. Wembanyama’s height and length give him a distinct advantage when hitting the boards. He also has the ability to read where the ball is coming off the rim and can go get it. Wembanyama can work on boxing out to make rebounding even more of a strength.
Wembanyama needs to fill out his frame. He is just 230 pounds, which is very light for his height. It may be hard for him to hold up in the post because of his lack of strength. He is also still growing, so adding weight to his frame will be even more important moving forward.
During his time as a pro, Wembanyama has been an inconsistent 3-point shooter. While he is a big guy, adding a 3-point shot to his game will make him a more well-rounded player. It will also help his team stretch the floor.
He’ll need to cut down on his turnovers in the NBA, as he had a negative assist-to-turnover ratio. Wembanyama can make some good passes, but at times can throw the ball away. He needs to recognize when double teams are coming and pass it to the open man.
Projected Draft Range: First Overall Pick
