Throughout quarantine and the offseason, the NBA teams have started to release new uniforms. Some of these uniforms are the city editions while others are just updated home or away jerseys. While there are possibly more jerseys to be unveiled, so far here are the top five.
5. Brooklyn Nets
Coming in at number five is the Brooklyn Nets’ Classic Edition Uniforms. These uniforms come in at fifth because of the coloring. The tie-dye blue is not a very common jersey color but it works for these. The red bordering and writing make the letters stand out on the jersey. The only note to these jerseys is they are a little reminiscent of the American flag.
4. Charlotte Hornets
Few things can go wrong with a classic pinstripe. The Hornets used both a pinstripe and the light Carolina blue in their City Edition uniforms. From the Hornet on the side of the shorts to the “Buzz City” across the chest, these jerseys are Charlotte.
3. Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks chose a classic jersey with a strong message. These City Edition jerseys are in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King and are done right. It seems as though the Hawks wanted MLK to be the main focus of these jerseys and that’s exactly what happened. The Hawks decided to use their jerseys as a platform to draw attention to social justice issues and a historical civil rights figure.
2. Philadelphia Sixers
The Sixers are all about the city of Philadelphia. These City Edition uniforms feature the iconic image of “Boathouse Row” on the front of the jersey. The sleek all black uniforms with the outline of the boat houses in white really resembles how “Boathouse Row” looks during a night in Philadelphia. The Sixers honor the historic city of Philadelphia with these jerseys and Sixers fans could probably not be happier.
1. Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns decided to use their City Edition uniforms to celebrate the Arizona area. These jerseys have a perfect sunset pallet of colors while still clearly displaying the Suns. These jerseys have enough color to draw attention to the uniform but it is not as overwhelming as the Brooklyn Nets’ jerseys. The shorts on this uniform also match the top but also offer some variety for the uniform.
Each new uniform seems to represent their team and their city in their own way. These uniforms are special and they are a great way to mix up the classic “home” and “away” jerseys. Make sure to stay on the lookout as more teams continue to release new and updated uniforms.
