The San Antonio Spurs have signed forward Tobias Harris to a two-year, $31 million deal, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Harris, 33, is a seasoned NBA veteran who has had previous stints with the Bucks, Magic, Pistons, 76ers and Clippers.
Harris was an important piece of the Pistons’ organization over the last two years, helping the team transition from a rebuilding squad into a serious contender in the Eastern Conference.
Harris will now join a young and talented Spurs team that came up short in the NBA Finals. Last season, he averaged 13.3 points and 5.1 rebounds while shooting 46.9% from the field and 36.8% from three-point range.
Harris’ three-point shooting will help take some of the pressure off Julian Champagnie and give the Spurs another reliable veteran shooter who can make an impact.
