The NBA Finals Are Here

Publish Date: June 5, 2022

One of the most-watched sports finals is finally happening and this month the fearless Golden State Warriors will face the incredible Boston Celtics in a best of 7 game format. Now, you don’t have to be a hardcore fan to know that these games will be incredibly entertaining to watch. Having won six NBA titles so far, the Golden State Warriors prove themselves to be a worthy opponent and will definitely keep your attention.

This year, the Golden State Warriors have the home court advantage and will start the series at their new San Francisco home arena.  They have their second meeting ever with the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. The only previous meeting between the two teams took place in 1964, when Bill Russell and the Celtics defeated Wilt Chamberlain and the San Francisco Warriors in five games in the first Finals matchup between the two great centers.

This time around, the Golden State Warriors are led by the trio of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green going against the trio of Jason Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart.

The Warriors had an easier road to the finals beating the Denver Nuggets with 4-1 points in the first round, beating the Memphis Grizzlies with 4-2 points in the second round and the Dallas Mavericks in the Conference finals with 4-1. On Their way to the finals, they eliminated the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and superstar guards like Ja Morant and Luka Doncic.

The Celtics definitely had a harder time getting to the NBA Finals this year. In the first round they were facing The Brooklyn Nets led by the superstar duo Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving who started peaking at the end of the season. They proceeded to beat the Nets with 4-0 points, making a huge statement on the field. In the next round, they were facing the current NBA champions, the Milwaukee Bucks led by Giannis Antetokounmpo. They were trailing 3-2 in the series and managed to win a game 7 series in a thrilling game 7 match, that ended with 109-81 points for the Celtics.
In the Eastern Final they had another 7-game series against the Miami Heats, led by Jimmy Butler. In Game 7, they won in a thriller end and managed to beat the Miami Heats with 100-96 points and proceeded in the NBA Finals.

Golden State is making its sixth NBA Finals appearance in 8 seasons while the Celtics last appeared in the NBA Finals 12 years ago, losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in seven games. The Warriors are favorites with odds -3.5 while the Celtics are considered underdogs with odds +3.5.

This will be a game you would not want to miss! Year after year, we see that we cannot ignore the underdogs and their hunger for the win. The Celtics crushed the Warriors in their 1st game of the finals with 120-108 points, making this finals unpredictable and even more exciting!

Surely, it will be an entertaining game. Let’s see if the Celtics manage to win 4 games in a row after their defeat in the 1st game, or if they will push and struggle to get the best of the 7 games.
