Memphis Grizzlies select Cameron Boozer with the No. 3 overall pick

The Memphis Grizzlies have selected Cameron Boozer with the third overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.

Boozer, arguably one of the most polished and NBA-ready prospects in this year’s draft, was projected as a top-three selection ever since his successful NCAA Tournament run with the Duke Blue Devils.

Although Duke exited the tournament in heartbreaking fashion, Boozer’s strong performances boosted his stock and cemented him as the top big man in this year’s draft class.

In his freshman season at Duke, Boozer averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 55.6% from the field. Boozer’s excellent size and frame at 6-foot-8.25 and 253 pounds project well to the NBA level, and he found plenty of success scoring in the post while using his strength and body control to his advantage.

Boozer showed tremendous growth throughout the season and also proved he can stretch the floor, shooting 39.1% from 3-point range.

Boozer’s size and skill set should translate well to a rebuilding Grizzlies roster that lost Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz in a trade last season.

Grizzlies fans will be excited by the prospect of Boozer and center Zach Edey forming a formidable frontcourt that can hopefully mesh well and bring out the best in point guard Ja Morant.
