The Washington Wizards have selected forward AJ Dybantsa with the first overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Dybantsa has been projected as the No. 1 pick in the draft for weeks and has been at the forefront of discussions surrounding the Wizards in recent months.
Dybantsa had an incredible season at BYU as a true dual-threat player with exceptional scoring and playmaking ability. He averaged 25.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 51% from the field.
Dybantsa will be tasked with helping bring the Wizards back into playoff contention, something they haven’t accomplished since the 2020-21 season. He won’t be alone in that effort, as Washington has key veteran players such as Anthony Davis and the newly re-signed Trae Young, along with plenty of young talent for Dybantsa to develop alongside.
