The Phoenix Suns have traded Jusuf Nurkic and a 2026 first-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets. In return, the Suns will receive Cody Martin, Vasilije Micic and 2026 second-round pick. Shams Charania was the first to report the trade.
Nurkic, 30, is averaging 8.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game this season. While he played earlier in the season, he has fallen out of the Suns’ rotation, as he hasn’t played since January 7. Over his career, he has averaged 12 points and nine rebounds per game.
Unloading Nurkic, and the first round pick, gives the Suns some more cap space to work with.
Martin, 29, is averaging 7.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game this season. Micic, 31, has put up 7.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
The Hornets are getting additional draft capital to build for the future, as they sit at 14th in the Eastern Conference.
