Point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has agreed to a maximum extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has agreed to a five-year, $172 million maximum rookie contract extension, his agent Thaddeus Foucher of @Wasserman tells ESPN.

Gilgeous-Alexander, 23, averaged 23.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game for the Thunder in 2020-2021. He has spent the last two seasons with the Thunder, but played his rookie season with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Oklahoma City is rebuilding, but they have a budding young star in Gilgeous-Alexander. The Thunder have a load of picks in the next couple of years to find talent to pair with Gilgeous-Alexander.
