Aldridge, 35, is a seven-time All-Star who has played for the Trail Blazers and Spurs in his career. This season he has played the lowest amount of minutes since his rookie year at 25.9 per game. With the Spurs not currently competing for a title, the move will allow
San Antonio to give minutes to younger players and Aldridge the chance to chase an NBA championship. The Heat are the current frontrunners to sign Aldridge according to Wojnarowski.
