Free agent forward Rudy Gay has signed a deal with the Utah Jazz. Gay spent his last four seasons as a member of the San Antonio Spurs. The financial details of his new Jazz contract are not yet known at time of writing.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday morning.
Gay was a role player with the Spurs in 2021. He started only one game, playing in 63. He scored 11.4 points per game, shooting over 38 percent from three-point range. His main skill set is his scoring efficiency, hitting no less than 46.6 percent during his first three years in San Antonio. It took a small dip in 2021, as San Antonio missed the playoffs for just the third time since the 1996-1997 season.
Now, Gay will join one of the most prolific three-point shooting teams in the history of the NBA. The Western Conference’s number one seed in 2021 adds another efficient wing.
