The Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics have engaged in a four-player trade. The Celtics will receive Daniel Theis, while the Celtics will get Enes Freedom (formerly Enes Kanter), Bruno Fernando and Dennis Schroeder in return.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the news via Twitter on Thursday afternoon.

This will be Daniel Theis’ second stint with the Boston Celtics. He began his career with Boston in 2017, playing there until he was traded at the 2021 trade deadline. He then signed with the Houston Rockets, who are sending him back to his roots.
Dennis Schroeder, potentially the biggest piece going back to Houston in the trade, is a nine-year veteran who will be playing for his fifth team. He was a mainstay in Atlanta before helping lead a surprising Oklahoma City team to the playoffs. That got the attention of LeBron James, whom he played with for one year in Los Angeles.
