The Los Angeles Lakers announced point guard Rajon Rondo suffered a broken right thumb in a team practice on Sunday night.
Rondo will miss six to eight weeks of basketball and will likely return early in the playoffs.
With Avery Bradley opting out of the restart due to family concerns, the loss of Rondo could hit even harder for the Lakers. Los Angeles, already thin at the guard spot, will have to manage without two of their most prominent guards from the regular season.
