The Phoenix Suns have completed a three-way trade to bring in David Roddy and Royce O’Neale. They will send a pick swap to the Grizzlies for Roddy. The Nets will receive three second-round picks for O’Neale. Shams Charania reported the news.
O’Neale comes to the Suns from Brooklyn, where he was averaging 7.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Roddy was posting 8.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Suns are getting depth for their playoff push, but also free up two roster spots for potential buyouts, which will also help their depth. They are currently fifth in the Western Conference.
Memphis gets a pick swap as part of the deal, which can help them support Ja Morant for the future. The Nets receive second-round picks to help a future rebuild as well.
