With NBA free agency largely wrapped up, it’s a great time to take a look at each NBA team’s depth chart as we head closer to the NBA season. Let’s take a look at the Philadelphia 76ers’ updated depth chart following free agency, along with some analysis of the team’s incoming and outgoing players as they shape up for the 2026–27 season.

The Philadelphia 76ers are arguably entering the 2026–27 season with one of the most improved rosters in the league, making numerous major moves to bring their team into serious contention this year. The first of their blockbuster moves was trading for five-time NBA All-Star Jaylen Brown. Although Brown is coming off one of the best seasons of his career, the 76ers did not have to give up their young core, sending Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round picks to acquire him.
The 76ers now have one of the best two-way players in the league, who they can pair alongside talented young guards Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, as well as former MVP Joel Embiid.
The 76ers also recently won the LeBron James sweepstakes, with the legendary forward deciding to sign with Philadelphia in what will be the final stop of his illustrious NBA career. Although James is 41 years old, he still averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 7.2 assists with the Lakers last season and has plenty left in the tank. He will be an invaluable player for the 76ers and is someone who can run the offense as the point guard or slide into whatever role is needed for the team’s success.
The 76ers’ impressive free agency and offseason did not end there, as they also signed Anfernee Simons, Dean Wade and drafted Labaron Philon Jr. in the first round of the NBA Draft. Simons is an incredibly talented offensive threat who averaged 14.3 points per game on 44.0% shooting and 38.5% from three-point range.
Wade gives the 76ers more depth within their frontcourt group and will hopefully get a chance to showcase his skills after receiving limited minutes during his time with the Cavaliers. Philon likely will not have the biggest role within an incredibly deep 76ers backcourt, but he still has plenty of talent to contribute when needed and will benefit from playing alongside such talented guards.
The 76ers’ key departures included Paul George, Quentin Grimes, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andre Drummond. While all were solid contributors for the 76ers last season, the team should be extremely happy with the incoming players they have brought in over the summer. The 76ers have become one of the favorites to win the NBA title and one of the biggest contenders in the Eastern Conference after their huge offseason.
Philadelphia made it to the second round of the playoffs last year, but with the additions of James, Brown, Simons, Wade and more, the potential for success with this new-look roster is sky-high entering the new season, especially if star center Joel Embiid can remain healthy.
