Otto Porter signs 2-year deal with Raptors

Publish Date: July 1, 2022

Otto Porter, Jr. has signed a new deal with a new team. He will join the Toronto Raptros on a two-year deal, for an amount of money that is unknown at time of writing. Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes reported that Porter’s wife being from Toronto was a deciding factor in this decision.

The Athletic’s Warriors beat writer, Anthony Slater, reported the news of Porter’s other offer via Twitter on Friday.

Porter was the third overall selection of the 2013 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards. This was fitting, considering he went to Georgetown in college, despite being from southeast Missouri. He played in Washington from 2013-2019 before bouncing to Chicago, Orlando and, finally Golden State. He won an NBA Championship with the Warriors during his only season there.

He played 63 games for the Warriors, starting 15 of them. Porter scored 6.2 points, grabbed 5.7 rebounds and dished out 1.5 assists per game in 2022. His career points per game sit at 10.6, and his career high was during the 2018-2019 season, at 17.5. He will now join one of the best-run franchises in the league in Toronto.

Stay tuned for more breaking NBA content, including preseason moves, contract updates and more news from every team.
