The Thunder took care of business away from home. The final score was 120-114 and it was an exciting game. The Thunder scored 120 points and beat the team that currently features Moses Brown, a former member of the team. The following article is going to be a Thunder vs. Mavericks Recap.
Mann had himself a career night. He finished with a career-high 41 minutes and scored a career-high 29 points, three dimes, one steal and one block on 8/14 from the field, 6/8 from three and 7/8 from the line. The Thunder were down several key players, thrusting Mann into the starting lineup and he did not disappoint in the slightest. Mann has some pretty boring per-36 minute stats at 15.4 points, 4.1 boards, 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.4 blocks a game. On the season, he’s averaging 7.8 points, 2.1 boards, 0.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.2 blocks a game on 40% from the field, 39% from three and 73% from the line. He’s a very promising scorer and he’s going to have a lot of opportunities to produce. The injuries to Shai-Gilgeous Alexander really opens things up for him here.
Dort had a very good game against the Mavericks, going for 30 points, six boards, three dimes and a block on 9/17 from the field, 6/10 from the three-point line and all six freebies. Dort is going to be the designated scorer on this team for the next couple weeks while Alexander remains out with an ankle injury. He’s definitely not disappointing Over the last week of play: he’s been averaging 25 points, 6.7 boards, 3.3 dimes, 1.7 steals, 0.3 blocks and two turnovers on 51% shooting from the field and 100% from the line. He’s also averaging 3.7 threes a game. Dort is going to continue putting up gaudy numbers while Alexander remains out so expect him to keep it up.
Bazley had a good game off the bench going for 13 points, 10 boards, one steal and three swats on 4/12 from the field, 2/8 from three and 3/6 from the line. Another inefficient outing to go with nice counting stats, Bazley has been very up and down this year. The inefficiency is likely to stay forever but at least he’s embraced being a defensive presence on this team. Expect Bazley to continue putting up lines similar to this one.
Diakite has been playing more recently and he’s shown a lot of promise. This time, he put up two points, ten boards, a steal and a block on 1/5 shooting. The shooting wasn’t there but the good news is that he started, grabbed ten boards and got two stocks in the effort. This team is looking for answers all throughout the five positions and maybe Diakite found his way to consistent minutes. He is not going to be the most exciting player but he’s proven he can fill up the stat sheet in limited minutes so his outlook is looking promising if Presti can clear up some vets in the front court.
