Aiming for some early-season revenge, the Lakers hope to dampen the ring celebration for the fans and players of Mile High City.
The Nuggets might have swept the Lakers last season, but the outcome doesn’t paint the whole picture. A mere 22-point margin of victory across all games shows just how tight the competition was. It serves as a stark reminder to sports fans about the value of every possession during the playoffs.
New faces and returning talents will grace this year’s matchup, headlined by the superstar contest between Lebron James and the reigning finals MVP, Nikola Jokic. Coming off a stellar playoff run, Jokic has solidified his standing among basketball legends. Despite his laid-back approach to the game, his impact is profound. In the Finals against the Miami Heat, Jokic recorded an average of 30.2 points, 14 rebounds, and 7.2 assists.

During this preseason, Lakers’ head coach Darvin Ham urged Davis to be more aggressive from beyond the arc. While maintaining this efficiency throughout the season is not the expectation, it’s a promising sign for the Lakers and their fans that he can regain respect from that area.
