Noa Essengue NBA Draft Profile

Publish Date: June 20, 2025

The 2025 NBA Draft will be an important event for teams to build for their future. Here is the Noa Essengue NBA Draft Profile.

Noa Essengue Background

Position: Forward

Size: 6-foot-10,  204 pounds

Class: N/A

College/Country: France

2024-2025 stats: 12.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.4 steals,  0.6 blocks, 56.0% FG, 29.4% 3FG, 73.0% FT

Essengue signed with Ulm in July of 2023 and played with their developmental team for most of the season. This past season, he moved up and played more games for Ulm in the French league. He averaged 12.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.

Following the season, the 18-year-old declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. He is currently projected to be a late first or early second round pick.

Noa Essengue Strengths

Essengue has nice athleticism for his size. He stands at 6-foot-10, but moves like a much smaller player. Essengue also has good body control. He uses these skills well to be a mismatch problem for opponents. Smaller players struggle to match his height and bigger players can’t move as well as him.

He has the ability to play multiple positions on the court. He can be the five for a team or the four depending on the matchups. This specifcially helps on the defensive end, where he truly shows his versatility. He can guard multiple positions and can switch against the pick and roll when needed.

His ability in transition, going both ways is unique. A lot of his offense comes from running the floor, where he can get free and finish at the basket well. His athleticism really shines. Essengue can also stop the fast break of opponents by getting back on defense and using his length to protect the basket.

Noa Essengue Weaknesses

Essengue needs to keep adding strength to fill out his frame. He is just 204 pounds, which is pretty light for a player that stands at 6-foot-10. Essengue can be overpowered while playing post defense and while rebounding. Adding weight will also help him finish more consistently through contact.

While he improved his 3-point shot this season, he still has a long way to go to become a perimeter threat. He shot below 30 percent from deep this past season and will have to adapt to a deeper 3-point line in the NBA. Essengue will need to develop to stretch the floor at the next level.

He is a bit of a tweener that is raw at this point of his career. Essengue will need to find a role for a team, whether that is adding weight and playing on the interior, or improving his jump shot to be more of an offensive threat to play on the perimeter. Essengue will not be NBA -ready from day one and needs time to find a role and develop.

Projected Draft Range: Late First Round Pick-Early Second Round Pick
