Nets trade James Harden to 76ers for Ben Simmons

James Harden trade

James Harden is being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. The other big piece of the trade is Ben Simmons, who the Brooklyn Nets will receive in return.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski announced the details of the trade on Twitter on Thursday afternoon.

Here are the full details of the Harden-Simmons trade; The 76ers are receiving Harden and Paul Millsap. The Nets will get Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first round picks.

Brooklyn will receive Philadelphia’s 2022 first round selection, which they can defer until 2023. That pick is unprotected. The other first round pick is protected, and is for the 2027 NBA Draft. That pick is protected from spots 1-8, which could turn into a protected 2028 pick with the same draft slot protections. If it rolls over into 2029, it will turn into cash and two second-round selections.
