Free agent center Mitchell Robinson has agreed to a three-year, $47.4 million deal with the Boston Celtics, according to Shams Charania.
Robinson, 28, is an eight-year veteran who has played his whole career for the Knicks. In his career, he has averaged 7.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. Last season, he helped the Knicks win the championship while averaging 5.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.
The Celtics have been thin on the interior over the last several seasons and Robinson’s rebounding and rim protection should help them, whether it is off the bench or if he starts.
