Milwaukee Bucks 2026-27 Depth Chart Following Free Agency

With NBA free agency largely wrapped up, it’s a great time to take a look at each NBA team’s depth chart as we head closer to the NBA season. Let’s take a look at the Milwaukee Bucks’ updated depth chart following free agency, along with some analysis of the team’s incoming and outgoing players as they shape up for the 2026–27 season.

This recent offseason for the Milwaukee Bucks may be one of the most significant and memorable in franchise history, as the team decided to trade two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat. After spending more than a decade with the Bucks, Antetokounmpo and forward Bobby Portis were traded to the Heat in exchange for Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, three first-round picks, a pick swap and a second-round pick.

Antetokounmpo, 31, spent his entire 13-year career with the Bucks and is a 10-time All-Star. He helped lead the team to the 2021 NBA Championship and won back-to-back MVP awards in 2019 and 2020. Antetokounmpo was joined in the trade by Portis, an 11-year veteran and another key piece of the Bucks’ 2021 championship team. Portis averaged 13.7 points per game for the Bucks last season.

Although the Bucks are losing two extremely valuable pieces, they are turning a new leaf and have accumulated numerous impressive talents through the Antetokounmpo trade, as well as through the draft and free agency. The most valuable player acquired in the Antetokounmpo trade is undoubtedly Tyler Herro, who was an integral part of the Heat’s squad and one of the league’s best young shooters. Herro averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 48.0% from the field and 37.8% from three-point range. He’ll be the new leader of a rebuilding Bucks squad looking to find its new identity.

Alongside Herro, the Bucks also received Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Kasparas Jakucionis. Ware, a former 2024 first-round pick by the Heat, showed steady improvement in his second year in the league, averaging 11.1 points and 9.0 rebounds, and will provide youth and depth behind Myles Turner at center.

Jaquez has also impressed in his three seasons with the Heat. After a slight dip in production during the 2024–25 season, Jaquez posted career highs last season, averaging 15.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists. He adds much-needed stability and talent to a slightly underwhelming Bucks forward group. The final player acquired in the Heat deal was Kasparas Jakucionis. It will be interesting to see how much the 2025 first-round pick plays within a deep backcourt, but Jakucionis flashed strong playmaking ability and high-level three-point shooting during his rookie season.

Besides the incoming players from the Antetokounmpo trade, the Bucks also re-signed guard Gary Trent Jr. to a four-year, $64 million contract extension. Trent is a career 38.7% three-point shooter and will provide some stability to a relatively young backcourt group.

The Bucks also drafted guard Brayden Burries and forward Nate Ament (the 13th overall pick, acquired from Miami) in the 2026 NBA Draft.

Despite losing the best player in franchise history, the Bucks have rebounded well and stockpiled numerous draft picks along with a large infusion of young talent through the trade and the NBA Draft. New head coach Taylor Jenkins will be tasked with leading the new-look Bucks through a rebuild, and it should be interesting to see how all of the Bucks’ new pieces mesh together during the upcoming season.
