Brown was a five-star recruit in the class of 2025 who signed with Louisville out of Florida. In his one season as a Cardinal, Brown averaged 18.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. He shot 41 percent from the floor, 34.4 percent from deep, and 84.4 percent from the free throw line. Brown helped Louisville make the NCAA Tournament second round before they were defeated.
Following the season, Brown declared for the 2026 NBA Draft. He is currently projected to be a lottery pick.
Brown has ok size for an NBA point guard and has great athleticism. He will fit in from a size perspective, but his athleticism helps him stand out. Brown has good foot quickness and great speed. He changes direction quickly and can create separation for himself. Brown has good leaping ability as well. His athleticism can help him on both ends of the floor.
He is a great ball-handler and has the ability to run an offense. Brown protects the ball when dribbling, but also has dribble moves to help him create separation. He can get by defenders and into the paint on a consistent basis when he tries to. In transition, he can get the ball up the court quickly.
His playmaking for teammates is there as well, as he averaged 4.7 assists per game. Brown can uses his eyes well to read the defense and find open players. He operates the pick and roll well, making the right read and often picking up an assist in the process. Brown can cut down on some turnovers, which may be helped by a spaced-out NBA floor.
Brown will need to improve his shot selection for the next level. There are plenty of times when Brown settles for 3-point shots instead of getting to the basket. Some of those are contested and he has the ability to get open. Brown will chuck shots all game long, even if they aren’t falling and won’t work to get better shots.
He is not the most efficient offensive player. Brown shoots below-average percentages from the floor and from deep. His shot selection has some to do with it, but he also needs to add strength to finish at the basket better. He is a streaky shooter from deep, getting hot at times, but also having really rough stretches at other points.
While he has the movement ability to be a great defender, it doesn’t always show up. He needs to put more effort and focus on staying in front of his matchup when he is guarding on the ball. When he is off the ball, he can do better getting through screens. He can be a liability when he has to switch on bigger players.
Projected Draft Range: Lottery Pick
