It was a bitter ending for Jimmy Butler and the Heat, but they didn’t go down without a fight. As much as this team wanted a finals appearance, they were just unfortunately outmatched. Jayson Tatum and the Celtics played fantastic games, especially Jaylen Brown. Now fans everywhere get to experience a matchup between the Warriors and Celtics. This is the Miami VS. Boston game seven recap.
Jimmy Butler Performance
The guy played every second of this game and he did everything he possibly could. Butler finished with 35 points, nine boards, one dime, one steal, and just one turnover on 13/24 from the field, 1/4 from three and 8/11 from the line. It was kind of painful to see him miss the last three, though. Still, he had some good games, especially in games six and seven. Now that they’re heading into the offseason, Miami is looking to see how they can bolster their roster around Butler and Bam Adebayo. Kyle Lowry had a forgettable playoff run this year, so maybe Miami looks to see if they can find some trade value in him. Whatever happens in Miami’s offseason, just know that Butler will remain their main guy.
Kyle Lowry Performance
Lowry had a pretty forgettable start to this game, as he started off 0/5 from the field. However, he finished 4/12 from the field for 15 points, seven boards, three dimes, two steals, one swat, and two turnovers. Now that the season is over for Lowry and company, a question remains: what is going to happen to Lowry? His playoff run this year was abysmal at best and his injuries didn’t do him any favors. His ability to even be on the court was admirable, but it kind of hurt his team more than anything. Maybe this won’t be the end of Lowry in a Heat jersey, but who knows what is going to happen. He is under contract for one more season and he is already 36 years old.
Bam Adebayo Performance
Adebayo had a very good game seven, going for 25 points, 11 boards, and four dimes on 12/21 from the field and 1/3 from the line. It took a while for him to have a great game but her, he helped out a ton this game. His offensive woes this playoff run didn’t help a lot, but he was fantastic defensively. It also doesn’t help matters that he was going against defensive maestros in Brook Lopez, Joel Embiid and Robert Williams this playoff run. Still, he was great and he had a nice run. Next year, he’s going to be a ripe 25 years old so he’s only going to get better from here.
Max Strus Performance
Strus had a nice all-around game. He had a controversial shot overturned when his heel supposedly touched the out of bounds line. Unfortunately, that’s apart of the game and he still did the best he possibly could. He put up eight points, eight boards, three dimes, one steal, and two swats on 3/10 from the field and 2/7 from three. Strus had a fantastic breakout season this year, and the Heat are delighted to have found yet another hidden gem in him. Hopefully he continues to improve next season.
