Lu Dort is returning to Oklahoma City. The Thunder and Dort have reportedly come to terms on a massive five-year contract that will pay Dort $87.5 million. He is now officially returning to the only team for which he has ever played.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news via Twitter on Thursday.
Dort is a combo guard/forward that went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft. The Thunder signed him to a two-way contract that same year. He briefly played for the Oklahoma City Blue in 2019-2020, but has also been a part of the Thunder’s rotation.
Last year, Dort scored a career high 17.2 points per game on just over 40 percent shooting from the field. He also racked up career highs in rebounds, assists, blocks, steals and minutes per game in 2021. Dort unfortunately missed the end of last season due to a labrum tear, but had surgery to repair it.
