The Atlanta Hawks and Lou Williams have agreed to a new contract. Williams, a three-time Sixth Man of the Year, signed a new deal is worth $5 million for one year.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the news via Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
As stated above, Williams won Sixth Man of the Year three times, in 2015, 2018 and 2019. His first came with the Toronto Raptors, the second and third came with the Los Angeles Clippers.
In March of 2021, Williams was traded to the Hawks for two second rounders and cash in return for veteran point guard Rajon Rondo. He would go on to help the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals, their first appearance in that round since the 2015 season.
