Free agent point guard Lonzo Ball has agreed to a four-year, $85 million deal with the Chicago Bulls according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Ball, 23, averaged 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game for the New Orleans Pelicans in 2020-2021. The four-year vet spent two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers and two with the Pelicans.
For the Bulls, the former no. 2 overall pick will join a Bulls team that has struggled to make the playoffs in recent years. The acquisition of Ball means that guard Zach Levine will likely play most of his minutes at shooting guard for the upcoming seasons.
The transaction will actually go down as a sign and trade with Tomas Satoransky, Garrett Temple and a second-round pick going to New Orleans.
