Back in high school, LeBron James was deemed “the chosen one” by Sports Illustrated.”

At this moment, James made his debut appearance on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Since that date, James has won four NBA finals, four finals MVP awards and four NBA MVP awards.

For this reason, it has been argued that James is the greatest basketball player of this decade (and possibly all-time).

Yet, oftentimes those who are stars on the court choose not to take advantage of their stage in order to make the world a better place for others.

Throughout James’ career, he has strived to make the world a better place for not only himself, but for future generations to come.

In 2018, James founded the Promise School. The Promise Schools’ main objective has been to help provide at-risk youth (3rd-8th grade) with access to solid educational resources. The school is striving to provide an educational support system for 720 students by the year 2022.

But what happens when the students who graduate from said school are potentially denied job opportunities due to a poor economic system?

During this present year (2020) James founded an organization called More Than a Vote.

The following initiative serves to make sure that all voters have an equal opportunity to vote, and are provided with the proper platform to make their vote count.

The organization states that voter suppression runs rampant throughout minority populations in the United States.

More Than a Vote calls for citizens, to be wary of fake news sources.

The organization also stresses the importance of doing political research before voting.

More than a vote is sponsored by many other high profile beings. The list includes (but isn’t limited to) Kevin Hart, Quavo, Michael Vick, Patrick Mahomes, Odell Beckham Jr. and Britney Griner.

The website also has its own store. The store donates 100 percent of its profits to the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. This non-profit organization strives to secure equal justice for all through the rule of law.
