The 2024 NBA Draft will be an important event for teams to build for their future. Here is the Kyshawn George 2024 NBA Draft Profile.
Kyshawn George Background
Position: Guard/Forward
Size:Â 6-foot-7, 208.8 pounds
Class: Freshman
College: Miami
2023-2024 stats: 7.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.9 blocks, 42.6% FG, 40.8% 3FG, 77.8% FT
George spent just one season with Miami starting about half of the games he played in, but he impressed. Now he is in the 2024 NBA Draft.
As a three-star recruit from Switzerland, George signed with Miami. He did not start for the full season, but averaged 7.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists. HIs solid individual play wasn’t good enough to help the Hurricanes make the NCAA Tournament, as they finished the season with a losing record.
Following the season, George declared for the 2024 NBA Draft. He is currently projected to be a late first round pick or early second round pick.
Kyshawn George Strengths
Especially for his size, George has shown a unique ability to create for others. He drives and surveys the floor while doing so. George can then hit an open teammate with a solid pass, getting them an open shot. His height helps him see over a lot of clutter. He can operate the pick and roll well too, using that same court vision to find open teammates.
George was specifically a good shooter off the dribble, but can also shoot decently off the catch. From 3-point range, George shot 40.8 percent. This was impressive because he shot over four 3-pointers per game. That consistency looks like it will last at the NBA level.
There is some versatility in his game. George is a bigger player, but has the skills of a guard. He can run the offense to create mismatches. Defensively, he is able to switch and guard multiple positions at times. He can also play on or off the ball, adding to his versatility.
Kyshawn George Weaknesses
George has good body control and skill, but isn’t the best athlete. He plays the game at a slower pace and won’t be a huge above-the-rim finisher. While he can be successful, it will be tough for him to match up with some of the best athletes in the NBA.
He shot the ball so well, but his release can be slow. George may not want to mess with his motion, but if a team wants him to, it would benefit him. He could get more shots off, as he would limit the time a defender had to close out on him.
There is a lot of projection being done here for George. He wasn’t a highly-touted recruit and he didn’t play a lot of minutes for Miami. His averages are low compared to other players in this class. It will take some time for him to develop.
Projected Draft Range: Late First Round Pick-Early Second Round Pick
