The 2024 NBA Draft will be an important event for teams to build for their future. Here is the Kyle Filipowski 2024 NBA Draft Profile.
Kyle Filipowski Background

Filipowski blossomed into a star at Duke over his two seasons of college basketball. Now he is in the 2024 NBA Draft.
As a five-star recruit out of Massachusetts, Filipowski signed with Duke out of high school. He immediately made an impact for the Blue Devils, as he averaged 15.1 points and 9.0 rebounds as a freshman. Duke lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament that season. Filipowski decided to return for his sophomore season, when he put up 16.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. His play helped the Blue Devils make the Elite Eight in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
Following the NCAA Tournament run, Filipowski declared for the 2024 NBA Draft. He is currently projected to be a first-round pick.
Kyle Filipowski Strengths
Filipowski is a talented scorer from the post. He has a soft touch and solid footwork. While he can sometimes struggle when guarded by bigger defenders, he usually is still able to produce from down low. He can continue adding post moves to his game to become even more effective down low.
There is a lot of potential for Filipowski to stretch the floor. He hit nearly 35 percent of his shots from 3-point range last season, but also showed decent touch from the mid-range. While his consistency needs to continue to improve, much like it did from his freshman to his sophomore season, he still will keep defenders honest when he is on the floor and has the chance to develop even further as a perimeter threat.
While he is a bigger player, he has some skills that feel like they fit a guard. He dribbles the ball well, which can help him create a little bit for himself. Filipowski can set up plays for an offense if needed. He also showed the ability to pass decently well, specifically in his sophomore season.
Kyle Filipowski Weaknesses
Although he can pass and dribble well for his size, he still needs to cut down the turnovers. There are times where he can get his pocket picked because he isn’t focused. Other times he throws the ball away. He should be able to improve in this area, as he likely won’t have the ball in his hands as much as he did at Duke.
While he blocked over a shot per game at Duke last season, there are some legitimate questions about his rim protection. He can struggle with bigger players. Filipowski can be late to help defensively, taking away some potential blocks. He also has a shorter wingspan than his height, meaning his length won’t help him as much as it will other players.
His shooting is solid from the outside, but he needs to continue to improve consistency if he is going to be a weapon. He can go on some dry spells and can stop those with more work. Filipowski also shot just 67.1 percent from the free throw line last season.
