Kasparas Jakucionis NBA Draft Profile

Publish Date: June 6, 2025

The 2025 NBA Draft will be an important event for teams to build for their future. Here is the Kasparas Jakucionis NBA Draft Profile.

Kasparas Jakucionis Background

Position: Guard

Size: 6-foot-4.75, 205.2 pounds

Class: Freshman

College: Illinois

2024-2025 stats: 15.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.3 blocks, 44.0% FG, 31.8% 3FG, 84.5% FT

Jakucionis was a four-star recruit in the class of 2024 who signed with Illinois out of Lithuania. In his one season with the Illini, Jakucionis posted 15.0 points 5.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. His play helped the team make the NCAA Tournament where they lost in the second round.

Following the season, Jakucionis declared for the NBA Draft. He is currently projected to be a lottery pick.

Kasparas Jakucionis Strengths

Jakucionis is one of the best passers in the draft class. He can operate the pick and roll well and is able to make the right decision on who to pass to. Jakucionis finds open teammates after driving into the lane himself. He can read the floor well in the halfcourt offense, but also processes things in transition well.

He has the opportunity to develop into a three-level scorer at the next level. Jakucionis drives well and is able to finish at the basket with crafty finishes. He also shoots well from mid-range. Jakucionis shot 31.8 percent from deep at Illinois last season, but has the potential to improve on that at the next level.

His basketball IQ is there, despite his turnovers. Jakucionis can read a defense and adjust on the fly. He knows how to attack different coverages well to get the most out of his offense. Defensively he is limited, but he seems to see the floor well on that end to, which helps him be in position at times.

Kasparas Jakucionis Weaknesses

Jakucionis does not create much of an impact on the defensive end of the floor. He can struggle to stay in front of opponents who have quicker footspeed than him. His wingspan could help him be more disruptive at the next level, but that didn’t show up a lot in college. He had less than a steal per game at the college level, so forcing turnovers will be tough as well.

He turns the ball over a lot, as he averaged 3.7 per game. His usage rate was high, which accounts for some of the turnovers, but he also needs to clean a few things up. Sometimes he tries to hard to force passes or doesn’t keep the tightest handles on the ball and it can get poked away.

It is hard to accurately project what Jakucionis can be because the second half of his season was hampered by a forearm injury. His play fell off a bit in several areas. He turned the ball over a lot and shot worse down the stretch. If he feels comfortable, hopefully he plays more like he did early last season.
