Jordan McRae has been traded to the Denver Nuggets. In exchange, they receive Shabazz Napier from the Washington Wizards.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the trade on Thursday afternoon.
An NCAA champion at University of Connecticut, Napier has already been on six teams since being drafted in 2014. McRae has had an even bumpier beginning to his career, being demoted to G League teams more than once.
This move is likely to improve Denver’s bench shooting depth. Meanwhile, the Wizards are trying their hardest to tread water. A reliable backup point guard should help that cause. No picks were traded in the deal that took place shortly before the deadline at 3:00pm.
