James Harden got his wish to be traded away from the Philadelphia 76ers late on Monday night. He is being moved to the Los Angeles Clippers for a reported haul of a 2028 unprotected first-round pick, two second-round picks and a pick swap. The Clippers will acquire Harden and a first-rounder from a third team.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news via late on Monday.
The drama began after Philadelphia was bounced from the NBA playoffs ahead of the Eastern Conference Finals. In the offseason, Harden went to China for a media opportunity and stated that he will never play for Daryl Morey again, and that Morey is a “liar.”
Last season, in an average of 36.8 minutes per game, Harden scored 21 points, dished out 10.7 assists, collected 6.1 rebounds and shot 38.5 percent from the three-point line. Those 10.7 assists led the entire NBA. He now joins Paul George and Kawhi Leonard as the Clippers try to assert dominance over the Lakers in the same city.
