Free agent point guard Ish Smith has reportedly found a new team. Smith’s new contract is for one year with the Charlotte Hornets, as they steal him away from the Washington Wizards.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.

The Hornets will be Smith’s 12th NBA team. Since joining the league as an undrafted free agent in 2010, the 33-year-old will now have played for close to half the league. Smith has been a member of the Rockets, Grizzlies, Warriors, Magic, Bucks, Suns, Thunder, 76ers (twice), Pistons, Wizards and now the Hornets.
While the team has been relatively quiet in free agency, the Hornets did make the play-in tournament in 2021. They suffered a blow out loss in which the Pacers scored 144 points. NBA fans will have to wait and see if Smith brings defensive intensity to the team
