Indiana Pacers Fire Head Coach Nate McMillan

The Indiana Pacers have announced the firing of head coach Nate McMillan just days after losing in the first round of the playoffs to the Miami Heat.

In four seasons with the team, McMillan posted a 183-136 record, but failed to win a playoff series. He didn’t find postseason success, but he did help the team move on from Paul George, while still making the playoffs in all four seasons.

McMillan has been a head coach in the NBA for 16 seasons, compiling a 661-588 record. He signed a one-year extension on August 12 of this year.

The search for a new coach will begin now for the Pacers, who are rumored to reach out to Mike D’Antoni if the Rockets fail to re-sign him according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
