With NBA free agency largely wrapped up, it’s a great time to take a look at each NBA team’s depth chart as we head closer to the NBA season. Let’s take a look at the Indiana Pacers’ updated depth chart following free agency, along with some analysis of the team’s incoming and outgoing players as they shape up for the 2026–27 season.

After a down season in which the Pacers went 19–63, largely due to injuries and Tyrese Haliburton missing the entire season, Indiana is back to full health and will be hoping to return to the NBA Finals after its appearance two years ago. The Pacers were not incredibly busy during the offseason but made a few targeted moves to round out the roster while their best players get back to full health.
The biggest offseason news for the Pacers is that star guard Tyrese Haliburton will be back to lead the team this season. After suffering a torn Achilles tendon in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals, Haliburton missed the entirety of the 2025–26 season but is expected to be available for the Pacers on opening night of the new season. Haliburton had a legendary playoff run prior to his injury, delivering clutch baskets, game-winners and helping lead the Pacers to within one win of an NBA championship.
His return will be monumental, as will that of center Ivica Zubac. Although Zubac was technically acquired at the 2026 trade deadline, this will be his first full season in Indiana after playing just five games for the franchise last year. During the 2025–26 season, Zubac averaged 14.1 points and 10.6 rebounds while shooting 59.8% from the field and should form a formidable guard-center duo with Haliburton this season.
In terms of offseason additions, Indiana’s main acquisition was Kelly Oubre Jr. Oubre has had stints with five different NBA franchises and is coming off a solid season with the 76ers in which he averaged 14.1 points and 5.0 rebounds. Oubre is only 30 years old, has been one of the league’s most consistent role players in recent seasons and should provide the Pacers with valuable depth on the wing.
The Pacers also signed veteran Larry Nance Jr. to a one-year deal. Nance, 33, will provide leadership off the bench and the flexibility to play either the power forward or center position within Rick Carlisle’s lineup.
Fortunately for the Pacers, they did not lose any significant players in free agency and should have a much stronger and healthier roster than the one that underperformed last season. The biggest question entering this year is whether Indiana can regain the form and identity it showed during the 2024–25 season and make another deep playoff run.
