The Charlotte Hornets have traded Jusuf Nurkic to the Utah Jazz for Collin Sexton and a 2030 second-round pick, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Sexton, 26, averaged 18.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game last season for the Jazz. In his career, he has put up 18.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in time with the Jazz and Cavaliers.
The Hornets will now put him in a backcourt with LaMelo Ball and new draft pick Kon Knueppel. They’ll be hoping to improve on their 19-63 record from last season.
Nurkic, 30, is an 11-year veteran who has averaged 11.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game in his career. Last season, he scored 8.9 points and hauled in 7.8 rebounds per game with time spent in Charlotte and with the Suns.
Utah will have Nurkic, Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler as big men for next season.
