Hannes Steinbach NBA Draft Profile

Publish Date: June 10, 2026

The 2026 NBA Draft will be an important event for teams to build for their future. Here is the Hannes Steinbach NBA Draft Profile.

Hannes Steinbach Background

Position: Forward

Size: 6-foot-10.25, 248 pounds

Class: Freshman

College: Washington

2025-2026 stats: 18.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.1 steals, 1.2 blocks, 57.7% FG, 34.0% 3FG, 75.9% FT

Steinbach was a four-star recuit who signed with Washington out of Germany in the class of 2025. He averaged 18.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists. Steinbach shot 57.7 percent from the floor and 75.9 percent from the line in his one season of collegiate basketball. While Washington struggled and didn’t make the NCAA Tournament, Steinbach was a bright spot.

Following the season, Steinbach declared for the 2026 NBA Draft. He is currently projected to be a mid to late first-round pick.

Hannes Steinbach Strengths

Steinbach has good size for an NBA big man, as he stands at over 6-foot-10 and 248 pounds. He can continue to add strength to his frame, but he has a good start to add to at the next level. Steinbach has a wingspan that stretches over seven-feet long as well, helping him matchup on the inside.

His potential as a scorer is great. Steinbach finished at the baset well, with the ability to make adjustments to give him the best chance to score. Steinbach can drive to the basket or score with good footwork in the post. He also has a solid jump shot that can extend from the mid range to 3-point range.

He is a great rebounder on both ends of the floor. Steinbach reads how the ball will come off the rim well and is able to go and get the ball. He boxes out well and is rarely overpowered when fighting for positioning. Steinbach limits second chance opportunities for opponents. He is an instinctive offensive rebounder who averaged 4.2 per game last season.

Hannes Steinbach Weaknesses

Steinbach is not much of a rim protector as a big man. He averaged just 1.2 blocks per game at Washington. He has good body control, but doesn’t quite have the athleticism to be a great shot blocker. Steinbach doesn’t get many blocks when guarding the ball and his help defense is there, but he can sometimes just miss out on getting blocks or impacting shots.

He needs to work on his passing at the next level to really help his team out. Steinbach had a 1.6 to 2.0 assist to turnover ratio at Washington. He needs to do a better job of passing out of double teams and finding the open man. Steinbach can see the floor more clearly and get his teammates involved more.

His three point shooting was a solid percentage for a player of his size, but he didn’t shoot a lot of 3-pointers. Steinbach will need to prove he can consistently knock down open shots to reach his full offensive potential. If he doesn’t knock down outside shots, it could be tough for him to see regular minutes early in his career.

Projected Draft Range: Mid to Late First Round Pick
