76ers star center, Joel Embiid, will miss at least a week with a shoulder sprain. He injured his left shoulder during Tuesday’s loss against the Cavaliers. After leaving that game, he would not return, then did not play against the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that Embiid will be re-evaluated in one week.
The shoulder sprain is Embiid’s third injury in 2019-2020 alone. He is notoriously injury prone, suffering everything from foot injuries to an orbital fracture in his face. This year he has hurt his shoulder, ankle and finger.
Philadelphia is also without their other star, Ben Simmons, for an undetermined amount of time to a back injury. The 76ers did beat the New York Knicks while severely short-handed, although they did not win the game against the Cavaliers, when Embiid went out.
Philadelphia travels to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers for their next game, on Sunday.
