The 2025 NBA Draft will be an important event for teams to build for their future. Here is the Egor Demin NBA Draft Profile.
Position: Guard
Size: 6-foot-8.25, 199.2 pounds
Class: Freshman
College: BYU
2024-2025 stats: 10.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.4 blocks, 41.2% FG, 27.3% 3FG, 69.5% FT
Demin was a five-star recruit in the class of 2024 who signed with BYU out of Russia. He took on a lot of responsibility and produced with 10.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. His play helped the Cougars make the Sweet 16 in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
Following the tournament, Demin declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. He is currently projected to be a lottery pick.
For a player that is so ball-dominant, Denim has great size. He measured in at over 6-foot-8 at the NBA Combine with a wingspan that measured over 6-foot-10. He weighs under 200 pounds, but his frame looks like it can be filled out more, giving him room for growth. Demin will have a size advantage on a lot of people guarding him at the next level.
Demin is the best playmaker in the draft and sees the floor very well. He finds open teammates often, even if it isn’t easily apparent that they are open. Demin operates the pick and roll well, showing great decision-making on who to pass the ball to after reading the defense. He will share the ball well at the NBA level.
There are limitations to his defensive game, but one area he does well is off-ball defense. He is able to show good eye-balance between his man and the ball. He stays attached to his man, but also can jump passing lanes as well. Demin has defensive inefficiencies, but he can do his job when guarding off-ball.
As mentioned earlier, Demin can add play strength to help his game. His frame needs to be filled out a bit more. This will help him finish at the basket at a more consistent rate, but also can help him on the defensive end of the floor too. With time, his size and strength can really be imposed on opponents.
His shooting is still a major work in progress. He shot just 27.3 percent from deep at BYU. Demin also shot 69.5 percent from the free throw line, which is below what a perimeter player should shoot. It will take some time and work for Demin to fix his shot, but he will need to in order to be an impactful player.
Demin can be more aggressive getting to the basket and scoring. Too often, Demin is looking to make a pass to a teammate. With his size and ability, he can attack the basket more and score for himself too. If he is able to show more balance between his scoring and passing, he will be an even tougher player to account for.
Projected Draft Range: Lottery Pick
