Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell has tested positive for COVID-19, otherwise known as coronavirus, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Mitchell is the second NBA player to test positive for the virus. The other player was his teammate Rudy Gobert. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Mitchell was the only other player or staff member to test positive for the virus.
Shortly after Gobert tested positive, the NBA suspended the season. With possibly several players infected, the NBA will monitor the situation and could either go straight to the playoffs or just pick things back up where they left off when it is safe.
More updates will be given as information comes out.
