Powell, 31, is a nine-year NBA veteran who has played for the Celtics and the Mavericks, who he has been a member of for most of his career. He has averaged 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in his career.
With the retention of Powell, the Mavericks are bringing back their starting center. They have also brought back Kyrie Irving from the starting lineup in an effort to compete in the Western Conference.
