The Dallas Mavericks have chosen to hire Dusty May out of the college ranks to be their next head coach. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news.
May posted a 190-82 record during his time in college with stops at Florida Atlantic and Michigan. He made the Final Four with the Owls in 2023. In his two seasons as Michigan’s head coach, May posted a 64-13 record and won the National Championship this season.
In Dallas, May will replace Jason Kidd as head coach. Kidd and the Mavericks parted ways earlier this year.
Michigan has not named an interim coach or stated who will take over yet.
