Wood’s new contract will be worth $41 million over three years. It is expected to be completed in a sign-and-trade with the Detroit Pistons, Wood’s now-former team.
Wood emerged for the Pistons following the team’s trade of center Andre Drummond. Wood ended the season with averages of 13 points and six rebounds per game.
The 25-year-old center joins the Rockets as the team’s future remains unclear, with stars James Harden and Russell Westbrook recently requesting trades.
