With NBA free agency largely wrapped up, it’s a great time to take a look at each NBA team’s depth chart as we head closer to the NBA season. Let’s take a look at the Chicago Bulls’ updated depth chart following free agency, along with some analysis of the team’s incoming and outgoing players as they shape up for the 2026–27 season.

The Chicago Bulls enter the 2026–27 season with a slightly revamped roster after a busy summer filled with moves. Perhaps the biggest move Chicago was involved in was the three-team trade that sent Julius Randle to the Brooklyn Nets and brought center Nic Claxton to Chicago. Claxton is an elite interior defender and rebounder, averaging 11.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game last season. It has been years since the Bulls have had a reliable long-term answer at center, but they will hope that Claxton, who is only 27 years old, can fill that need and become this generation’s Joakim Noah for the franchise.
Alongside the newly acquired Claxton, the Bulls also re-signed center Zach Collins to a two-year, $17 million contract. Collins will be returning for his third season with the Bulls and has only played 38 games over his first two seasons with the team, but Chicago clearly valued his skill set and the depth he brings to their frontcourt.
The Bulls also signed guard Norman Powell to a two-year, $45 million deal. Despite being 33 years old, Powell made his first All-Star Game last season while playing for the Heat, averaging 21.7 points per game. He is an 11-year NBA veteran who has played for the Raptors, Trail Blazers, Clippers and Heat, and he will now bring some much-needed veteran experience to a young Bulls roster.
The final key additions of the summer include the Bulls’ promising 2026 NBA Draft class. Chicago selected forward Caleb Wilson fourth overall and guard Dailyn Swain with the 15th overall selection. Wilson was a highly touted prospect out of UNC and is a player who can immediately come in and contribute to the team. Wilson possesses exceptional size and athleticism and is one of the better two-way players coming out of the draft.
While the Bulls have had a busy summer, they have also lost some players in free agency. Chicago saw guards Anfernee Simons and Collin Sexton depart for the 76ers and Lakers, respectively, creating a gap the team attempted to fill with the new additions of Powell and Swain. While Simons and Sexton are both extremely capable and talented guards, the Bulls should be happy with how they have shaped their roster entering the new season. Chicago was able to strengthen its frontcourt, and fans should be excited to see the new forward pairing of Wilson and Matas Buzelis hopefully lead the team back into playoff contention.
