The Celtics have a 2-1 advantage over the Warriors right now, thanks in part to the fourth quarter struggles of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. This time, the Celtics had three players score 24 or more points (Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart). This game proved that not only is Boston an elite defensive squad, but they can shoot it lights out when need be. This is the Celtics VS. Warriors Game three recap.
Robert Williams Performance
Williams has always been an elite defender and this game proved that he probably should’ve won the DPOY had he played in more games. He finished with a nice eight points, ten boards, three steals and four swats on 4/5 from the field. His impact defensively is unmatched has he is leading both teams in defensive rating percentage (94%). Not only is that outstanding, but he is the reason this team has the paint off limits. Williams is nursing a bum knee right now, but he is still able to leap out of the gym and perform some unbelievable defensive plays. Expect him to continue being a defensive menace with the occasional ally-oop. If only he was completely healthy.
Jaylen Brown Performance
Brown had superstar performance in this one: 27 points, nine rebounds, five dimes, one block and two turnovers on 9/16 from the field, 5/6 from the line and 4/8 from three. This guy is an emerging superstar and it’s quite apparent. The guy is paired along Jayson Tatum so this Warriors team has their hands full in attempting to contain them. Brown is having such a good series against the Dubs right now. If he keeps playing like this, it’s going to be in Boston’s favor. Hopefully, this team can keep playing like this. The Celtics are looking to win their first ring since 08.
Marcus Smart Performance
Smart is having himself a series right now. He put up a cool 24 points, seven boards, five dimes, and five turnovers on 8/17 from the field, 3/7 from three and 5/7 from the line. The turnovers were a bit much, but the guy is playing some solid ball right now. So far, Curry has just a total of six points, three assists, three turnovers on 3/10 from the field and 0/3 from three. A big part of that is due to the defensive abilities of Smart. This guy needs to continue putting the clamps on Curry if they want to get the chip.
Jayson Tatum Performance
Tatum is having a spectacular finals run. The guy had another 36 piece to go along with six boards, nine dimes, one steal, and just one turnover. He shot 9/23 from the field, 3/9 from three and 5/6 from the line. Tatum is also leading all players in assists and points on either team which tells people just how special of a run he is having right now. Tatum is superstar at just 24 years old and he has gotten better and better every single year. The big three in Boston (Smart, Brown and Tatum) are going to continue wreaking havoc on the league for years to come.
