The Boston Celtics are trading Josh Richardson to the San Antonio Spurs. In return, the Spurs will receive Derrick White. This kind of one-for-one trade has been rare at the 2022 NBA trade deadline.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the news via Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
The Boston Celtics are trading Josh Richardson to the San Antonio Spurs for Derrick White, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Richardson has played 44 games this season, averaging 9.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game for the Boston Celtics. He is playing 24.7 minutes per games this season. Meanwhile, Derrick White has played in 49 games this year, starting 48 of them for the Spurs. He is averaging 14.4 points and 5.6 assists per game. This is one point per game away from his career high.
