The Cleveland Cavaliers are trading guard Dennis Schroder and cash to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for guard Tre Mann, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Schroder is a 13-year league veteran who has played for 11 different NBA franchises. He split his time during the 2025-26 season between the Kings and the Cavaliers and averaged 10.8 points and 4.9 assists while shooting 40.5% from the field and 32.9% from three.
He’ll likely play backup to point guard Coby White, who was re-signed by the Hornets in the offseason. Schroder’s experience will give the Hornets’ backcourt group a veteran presence, with young guards such as Kon Knueppel and Sion James further rounding out the group.
Tre Mann will get a new change of scenery after a dip in performance and minutes last season. In 53 games, Mann averaged 5.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 36.0% from the field.
