The Golden State Warriors and guard Brandin Podziemski have agreed to a five-year, $110 million fully guaranteed contract extension, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The deal also includes a mutual option in the fifth year (2031-32) and a trade kicker.
Podziemski is entering his fourth season in the league after being selected by the Warriors 19th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft. Podziemski averaged career highs in points (13.8) and assists (3.7) last season and was one of a select group of players to appear in all 82 regular-season games.
The Warriors have one of the oldest rosters in the league and have dealt with quite a few injuries to their star players over the past few years, which shows how valuable a young and durable shooter like Podziemski is to the franchise.
Podziemski stepped up last season when Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler were out with injuries, and he should be a big part of the Warriors’ success this season as they look to stay healthy and compete in the Western Conference.
